The Relief Society Birthday activity was quite an event here in Campina Grande! We went to a ranch and spent the day in the sun with horses, a zipline, a pool and lots of irmazinhas (about 60 came from the stake) to get to know better. I had a great time and always admire the conversion stories of these sweet women. I was the official photographer for the day cause I brought my nice camera and brazilians love to strike a pose! So many wanted a profile picture in their bathing suit! You go girl!

We had a really fun Carnaval holiday at Cassia and Edvaldo's house. I was amazed at the beauty of where they live and all the fruit! They gave me this banana bunch off their tree and when they ripened they were so delicious! It's fun how people just love to churrasco and eat fruit and talk all day. I actually liked the coconut milk and inside of the coconut, but I still am not a big fan of 'jaca'. It's such an interesting fruit the way it comes out in little chunks. (the picture with the hand reaching in). It tastes like the flavor of old bubble gum to me. But then again rootbeer tastes like "medicine" to Lee so I guess everyone's taste buds are different mesmo. My favorite thing to see are all the colored clothes hanging on the line in the sun. The background picture at the bottom by the tree shows this- it was far away but I just get so encantada with this!

We started out the year right with some fun Primary activities. This calling has been so wonderful and when you show kids you love them they return it back 100 times! When I first started there were like 3 or 4 kids there at 9am ready to start church. Now after a few months of hard work I just glowed with joy as I started Primary at 9am and saw 20 beautiful children in their seats smiling at me! :) They are excited and eager to learn about the Gospel. I loved in Conference how they said we need to truly "Behold" our little ones.
Maile especially loved the Iron Rod activity we had. She was telling me about her ballet class weeks after the activity and she said they have a "barra de fe" (Iron rod) to hold onto while they dance. :) So cute.

The newest additions to my in-law's ranch is of course a huge mural of Jesus with Simon! :) And the little house for the kids has this picture of Jesus with the children. I love it! But of course who loves it more are all the little grandchildren. It makes me happy to see Maile playing "house" so cute with all her cousins. I love to watch them and hear Thomas say they are making "schopa". (sopa- he talks with the cutest carioca accent).
