USU Chi Omega Reunion 2009

Chi Omega is.... making wonderful friendships with all different sorts of people, organizing fun events and formals (even when you pledge thinking there ARE actually formals) :), staying up late chatting, busting into the cereal cupboard with our extra key, taking your turn living in the "pit" and loving it, sitting in portrait during rush singing the dinosaur song, table dancing to "I Think We're Alone Now", Monday night meetings, doing the concessions at football games, "rushing in late at night to tell your best friend that you're in love", house duties, writing threatening messages on Chi-O Megs door white board, singing cheesy songs and cheers and loving it, playing intramural football in our hot chi-o "coca cola" shirts, watching the house mom put 3 cans of mayo into the casserole for that night, moving your car in and out of the driveway to let people out, watching people out the front window slip on the icy sidewalks, doing a late night Wendy's run with your buddies, and oh....so much more! We had such great times, it was so good to see everyone! Love in Chi-Omega.

Maile Moo

My little Maile is 21 months today! I have been giggling to myself lately of some of the funny things she does.
  • She discovered that if she sticks her little finger in her nose long enough she might just find a little treasure in there. Oh gal! The more I tell her not to the more fun it becomes for her.

  • She has a little porceline Jesus nightlight and every night when I'm rocking her she likes to reach out and touch Jesus' nose and say, "Hi Jesus nose".

  • She loves to run up and down our hallway. She counts before the take-off and counts in portuguese so cute..."um, dois, tres...ja!" and then takes off in her wobbled run. so cute.

  • The other day she was saying, "Look! Look!" and I was reading something so I didn't look up immedietely when all the sudden she yells, "Mee-sha! Look!" Ha! I guess she learned my name from Lee calling me. It was so funny and since I looked right up she always yells "Miche!" to get my attention. The other day I woke up and she was calling my name to get out of her crib. :)

  • She saw a little segment on Sesame Street where a bunch of kids are jumping up and down doing the "veggie dance". She thinks that is the greatest thing and demands that I rewind it over and over. When she wants to watch it she tugs at me and then shakes her little arms up and down like the kids in the dance. It's so dang funny.

  • Well- Maile Nicole definitely is a busy body and I can't believe I am going to have a 2 year old on my hands this summer! I think she's really going to love all the outdoor activities. So no more snow please!

Brazil 2009

This fruit "jaboticaba" grows on the trunk.

This is the entrance to Lee's family's ranch. It's so beautiful there!

Me, Priscila, and Liheldna and some of their kids.
Thomas and Maile are just 1 month apart!

My sister-in-laws (minus 1). We have fun together!

These are all the little girls about 1 year apart in age from each other. I took these dresses so they could get their picture together but we couldn't get smiles out of them on cue. :)
Lee's parents.

this was the day we got there! so sunny and beautiful. this is out the window of their apartment. Lovin' the view!!!

By now you that pass by our blog every once in awhile know that I only update it every few months and only when something eventful happens. :) We went to Brazil for 10 days in March and it was total paradise! Hot beach weather and it was so much fun to spend time with Lee's family. Whenever we visit it's fun to get together with my 5 sister-in-laws and the 17 grandchildren and just talk and play. My favorite is listening to my sogra's (mother-in-law) stories- she is such a talker but has so much passion for life and the Gospel- I love it. I had fun laying by the pool, going to the beach, the mall, eating the yummy food, seeing old friends and family and the last day Lee had a bunch of friends over for a game of soccer at his parent's ranch. It was so much fun. Brazil reminds me so much of my mission and I love the people so much- it's neat that I actually have family there now. Maile had fun this time with all the kids even though it brought out her possesive side and she did a lot of grabbing toys away saying "NO!" and "mine!". Oh gal. But she's learning to play better with other little ones and it was fun to see her pick up on the Portuguese. The traveling was very tiring (15 hours in the airplane!) but all I can say is...we did it and it was totally worth it.
Ever since we got home I've been really sick and now that I'm feeling better I look out the window at the snow and can't help but feel a bit depressed. I just really am anxious for the Spring! I definitely do better in a warm climate. Oh well, now that our trip is over I am looking forward to General Conference and the tulips coming up in our front yard. Beijos.
