Girl in a Whirl

I came across this little poem the other day and it always makes me laugh! It's been so fun to focus 100% on being a mom now that I'm not working- I feel like I can reinvent myself a bit and focus on some skills that I didn't have time for. Just have to remember I can't do it all!

The Girl in a Whirl

By: Dr. Sue

Look at me, look at me, look at me now!

You could do what I do if you only knew how.

I study the scriptures one hour each day,

I bake, I upholster, I scrub, and I pray.

I always keep all the commandments completely.

I speak to my little ones gently and sweetly.

I help in their classrooms, I sew all they wear,

I drive them to practice, I cut all their hair.

I go to the temple at least once a week;

I change the car’s tires and fix the sink’s leak.

I’m taking a class on the teaching of Paul,

But that is not all, oh no, that is not all!

I play the piano and work on my talents;

My life is a wonder of fullness and balance.

I read to my children, I help all my neighbors,

I bless my community, too, with my labors.

Our family home evenings are always delightful;

The lessons I give are both fun and insightful.

I do genealogy faithfully, too.

It’s easy to do all the things that I do.

I have a home business to help make some money;

I always look beautifully groomed for my honey.

My visiting teaching is done the first day;

I exercise, and I cook menus gourmet.

I can garden produce each summer and fall,

But that is not all, oh no, that is not all!

“It’s easy,” she said,

And then she dropped dead!

Our Basement Is for Rent...

So we are moving forward with our plans to move to Brazil this Summer and stay there a few years. We will be renting out our home top floor and basement separately. We already have a renter for the top floor (Fran that has been living in the basement, but she's looking for a roommate if you know anyone) and we need someone to rent the basement. It's two bedroom and very spacious (about 11oo sq. feet) with a fireplace, full kitchen, separate entrance, one covered parking space, washer and dryer, and lots of windows, not to mention a wonderful little lake in the backyard. Check out pictures at
Please spread the word to anyone you might think interested. We want to start renting it June 1st. It will be $900/month + utilities It's a great place to live! :) Help us find some good renters if you would!

Chegou!! (he's arrived) Lucas Samuel Barbosa
Born March 2, 2010 at 3pm
7.11 lbs and 21 inches long

Wow, what a week! I went in on Tuesday morning and 6 hours later our little Lucas was born. I was so nervous anticipating childbirth and it really was such a wonderful experience! (you can tell I had an epidural. lol) The minute they put that little baby to my chest I stared at that little face and wept for joy. I can't describe what it feels like to be a mother for the second time. I love my little Maile and now my little boy so much. We feel like an official family. Lee has been so amazing and so helpful, caring and supportive through it all- what would I do without him?!! Well, anyways, I'm just so happy that our baby boy is here. Que felicidade!! Thank you for all the prayers and help from family and friends. We couldn't be more thankful and happier.
