Guilty Pleasures

Yes, I will admit, I have been a fan of American Idol since Season 1. I just don't know why it fascinates me so much to see these kinds of shows, I guess it has to do with growing up watching "Star Search" so much! ;) he he. I will admit the group numbers have gotten cheesy beyond measure but I can't deny I watch every episode. And I still get chuckling at Simon's comments. He's my favorite! I've got my bets on the Australian, the kid from Murray, Syesha, and some of the other blondie girls. We'll see. But my favorite of all is the one and only PROJECT RUNWAY that has cracked me up this season! For those of you that watch you'll appreciate the famous quotes from Cristian like, "I'm going to die of barfness" or "that's fierce.". Ha! Where do they get these people from?! But I have to say, they sure are talented! The ironic thing is I don't have any fashion sense or sewing skills and it's one of my favorite shows! :) What are your guilty pleasure tv shows? (as if I need another one to watch!)

The return of "Mrs. Barbosa"...kind of....

Many of you know that I used to teach 4th grade before going to work for Richard Paul Evans. It was something I really did enjoy and often miss. Now the opportunity came up that I am homeschooling my boss's 4th grader son, Michael. I do this everyday in the mornings and it has been so fun to get to return to the teaching scene a little bit. Plus, the amazing bonus of being able to have Maile at home with me in the mornings. Score!

ThE WoRld Of EAtiNg...

YuMMy! Okay so I had no idea that feeding time was going to be the messiest thing ever! Ha! Just looking at these pictures makes me laugh. It is so fun though cause Maile gets soooo excited to eat, especially when she gets to sit in the high chair at a restaurant. It is so fun to have her part of the dinner table! (but the clean-up and diaper changing is "horrivel" as they say it best in Portuguese!)

So we went and got Maile's pictures taken at the first of the month by Skye Johansen (http://www.skyejohansen.com/) and we were so happy how they turned out! Maile turned out to be quite the little poser and every shot had something cute about it. I got a little carried away uploading the pictures, but what can I say, I'm a first time Mom and this is just so fun and new! :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! For those of you that know my brother and his wife, you will be happy to know Joe and Anne are celebrating their 1 year anniversary today! :) They are a perfect example of there being a "Jack for every Jill". They are the perfect match and I have admired the way they approach life and deal with challenges that have come their way. Love you guys!

I also feel so lucky to have found my perfect match...my Ligleydson. Lee is such a wonderful husband and I'm so thankful for his patience and unconditional love he shows toward me. Te amo xu xu! Feliz dia de Namorados.

Joining The Blogging World!

Well after looking at everyone else's blogs the last few months it's been fun to see what's going on in your lives! I stopped telling myself, "I'll do that next month", and now I've finally started a blog of our own little family. I'm sure most of it will be about Maile and it will be a fun way to record her milestones and pictures. I hope to get more creative as I learn how to do this, so send your tips my way. :) P.S. I can already tell this is going to be addicting....

Maile Nicole

How do I describe our little Mailezinha?! She is starting to get some real personality! She is always on the go and such an alert little thing. She whips that little head around so quickly always looking for the next person or thing to entertain her. We giggle at her fake cough, her sighs she lets out, and this new growling phase she is in. One of her favorites lately is to hold out her voice as long as she can until she runs out of breath, and then she smiles and looks at us like she has really done something great. :) I never anticipated that motherhood would be this much fun. We can't wait to see what she'll do next! Te amo minha filinha.

Boy Oh Boy!

I just wanted to say how happy I am for my friends that have recently had baby boys! Becca, Kelly N., Kelly G. and now Katie! I'm glad Maile will have her pick at some pretty cute boyfriends. :) he he. Hope you're all doing well....you are in our thoughts!
